    The Atlanta School of Electrolysis offers private instructions and is certified by the State of Georgia Department of Education (school certificate #415) and by the Instantron Company of East Providence, Rhode Island to provide quality training in advanced professional electrolysis. The curriculum of this school satisfies the requirements for licensure in electrolysis by the state of Florida. The curriculum complies with Florida statute 59R-53.002 and includes the following:
  • Over 120 hours are in academic lecture.
  • No less than 50 hours are in the sciences, including studies of the integumentary system, the endocrine system, the biology of hair growth, the circulatory system, the nervous system, microbiology, a study of the basis and techniques of proper sterilization, disinfection and sanitation, dermatology and skin diseases as related to the clinical application of electrolysis.
  • No less than 145 hours are in electricity and equipment which includes the study of the principles of electricity, currents, epilator functions, calibrations and adjustments of machines, effects of electricity on skin and tissue and demonstrations in all accepted modalities.
  • No less than 60 hours are in theory of clinical application which includes history of permanent hair removal, proper and effective treatment procedures, proper positioning, effective consultations and case history card procedures, hygiene, sterilization and infection control in the clinic.
  • No less than 15 hours are in clinic and office management which includes communications skill development, professional ethics, office procedures, office bookkeeping, business licenses, malpractice insurance, issues related to client management, the electronic tweezer and laser management.
  • No less than 10 hours are in disease and infection control which includes the study of blood-borne diseases, particularly hepatitis and HIV/AIDS, their control and prevention.
  • No less than 200 hours of practical clinical application which includes the performance of electrolysis, thermolysis and blend techniques on students and patients selected for the student clinic through regular clinic hours with designated areas of work utilizing the theories learned.

  • The intent of the curriculum is to prepare professionals for the superior clinical performance of electrolysis, to pass the certification exam of the American Electrolysis Association and to pass the exam of any state licensing agency.
